Why we built an AI-native feedback tool

Most feedback tools were designed for a world where humans triaged everything. Here's what changes when you assume AI as the first reader.

Every feedback tool you've used assumes a human reads each post first. Tags it. Decides if it's a duplicate. Writes a summary if there are too many similar ones. That assumption made sense in 2018, when AI couldn't do those things reliably.

In 2026, it's wrong.

When you redesign the workflow assuming AI is the first reader — not the last — the whole product gets simpler.

What changes

1. Triage is automatic, not a human bottleneck.

In 2018, you'd hire a part-time PM to sort through inbound feedback every morning. By 2026, that PM's first hour of work is something Sonnet does in 200ms for $0.0003. They can spend their hour on actual product decisions instead.

In Supoid, every piece of inbound feedback gets:

  • Tagged with category (feature/bug/integration/billing/...)
  • Sentiment-scored (frustrated/neutral/excited)
  • Embedded into a vector and matched to existing clusters
  • Either added to a duplicate cluster or seeded as a new one

All of that happens between submission and the first time a human looks at it. The PM's morning is now "scan 5 clusters" instead of "read 50 individual posts."

2. Duplicate detection isn't a chore, it's the default.

Users word the same thing 10 different ways. "Add dark theme," "night mode please," "make it less bright at midnight," "I literally cannot work after 8pm because of the white background."

A 2018 tool relies on you to spot those patterns. A 2026 tool clusters them on similarity scores and shows you a single "Dark mode (47 votes)" entry.

The economics of building a SaaS shift when you can prioritise by real volume instead of clicked volume. Your loudest user isn't your most representative one.

3. Summaries are free.

When a cluster hits 5+ members, Supoid auto-summarises: "Customers want a dark mode toggle for late-night work, with separate preferences per workspace."

That summary used to be a PM task ("re-read all 47 posts and write a one-liner"). Now it's a $0.001 API call that runs in the background.

4. Changelog drafts itself.

Connect GitHub. Merge a user-facing PR. Sonnet drafts a release note from the title and description. You review, polish, publish. The chunk of work that used to take 15 minutes per release takes 30 seconds of review.

What doesn't change

AI is the first reader, not the only one. The human still:

  • Decides what's actually worth building.
  • Writes the strategic context.
  • Talks to customers when their request gets nuanced.
  • Owns the product taste.

If your feedback tool tries to make those decisions for you, run away. We don't want that. We want the boring 80% (triage, dedup, draft) to be automatic so the high-leverage 20% gets your full attention.

The bigger thesis

Tools built before the AI inflection point assume human-paced workflows. Spreadsheets, kanbans, Notion DBs — they all force you to be the integration layer between your customers and your engineering team.

Tools built after the inflection point assume AI is the integration layer, and your job is to direct it.
