Migrate from Canny to Supoid in
10 minutes, votes preserved.
Canny pioneered the category. Supoid rebuilt it for 2026 — AI clustering, MRR-weighted decisions, auto-drafted changelogs. Same voting model, half the price, zero migration drama.
Free for the first 25 feedback items / month — enough to validate the migration before you commit.
Four reasons teams switch
Canny's a fine product. It's also the same product it was in 2019. Here's what shifts the day you migrate.
Cut your bill
Canny's smallest paid plan starts at $79/mo and scales aggressively per member. Supoid Starter is $39/mo, no per-seat tax.
Get AI clustering
Canny shows 47 separate posts about 'dark mode'. Supoid clusters them automatically into 1 theme so you triage in minutes, not hours.
See MRR-weighted demand
Canny shows 12 votes. Supoid shows '12 votes — $4,800 MRR represented, 3 paying customers'. You'll never ship the wrong feature again.
Auto-draft changelogs
Canny needs you to write each release post by hand. Supoid drafts it from your merged GitHub PRs. Review + ship in under a minute.
How the migration works
We built the importer specifically for Canny's CSV export format. No engineering, no manual data wrangling. Most teams ship it on a Friday afternoon.
- 1
Export from Canny
Settings → Data → Export. Canny gives you a ZIP with posts.csv, votes.csv, comments.csv.
Free on every Canny plan. Takes ~30 seconds.
- 2
Drop the CSV in Supoid
Settings → Import data → Upload posts.csv. Status, vote counts, original dates — all preserved.
Optional: drop votes.csv to import voter emails so MRR-weighting kicks in once you sync Stripe.
- 3
Point your DNS
Replace your Canny CNAME with Supoid's. Old /feedback/foo URLs 301-redirect to the new ones, no SEO loss.
Optional. You can also keep your Canny subdomain live during a soft launch.
- 4
Swap the embed
Replace the Canny widget script tag with Supoid's one-line install. Same UX for users, less code on your side.
Old voter sessions don't carry over (different domain), but vote counts do.
CSV format we accept
Drop Canny's posts.csv directly. Or paste any CSV with columns title, details, status, votes, created, authorEmail. Statuses get mapped automatically (Canny "open" → Supoid "open", "planned" → "planned", "complete" → "completed", etc.).
What carries over, what doesn't
Preserved
- Post title + body + status
- Vote counts (per post)
- Original creation dates
- Author email + name (when present)
- Comment threads (if you import comments.csv)
Not carried over
- ·Individual voter sessions (different domain — but counts are correct)
- ·Canny board hierarchy (we use a flat board model)
- ·Custom Canny domain SSL (Vercel re-provisions)
- ·Canny admin replies (only public comments import)
What you'll save
Numbers as of July 2026. Canny pricing per their public site.
Annual billing brings Supoid down another ~17%. Free plan supports unlimited team members and 1 public board.
Ship the migration this Friday
Most teams export Canny + import Supoid + DNS swap inside one afternoon. We'll be in your Slack the whole time if you get stuck.
